The Mental Health Association of Rockland County (MHA) is a private,
not-for-profit community agency whose mission is to provide mental health preventative, supportive, treatment and advocacy services to children and adults in our community.

Founded in 1951, the Association has established itself as a leader in providing innovative and effective services to the Rockland Community. It is one of over 320 affiliates of the National Mental Health Association, and a member agency of the Mental Health Association of New York State.

About The Florence Gould Gross Award

The first NAMI-FAMILYA Award was presented in 1985
to recognize and express appreciation
to individuals who had contributed significantly
to improving the lives of people with mental illness. 
Over the years, the Florence Gould Gross Award
(named for NAMI-FAMILYA's founding president)
has been presented to people who have contributed in diverse ways
employers of people with mental illnesses, mental health clinicians and researchers, community members, family members and consumers
